My Father's Wings

Welcome to my little blog. Thanks for dropping in for a visit. It's just the humble beginnings now, still on the foundations. But I hope you'll pop in now and again, watch it grow. I'll always be glad to see you.
Under His Wings- Wy did I choose that title? There's so much in that beautiful little verse, in that whole increadible chapter of Psalms. 'He shall cover you with His feathers.' Father God is so full of tenderness and gentleness. As Jesus said, "How often have I wanted to gather you as a hen gathers her chicks" God is our Father. He is more your real father than even your dad. We are so precious to Him. Father God adores us so much the Bible is full of it. In the Psalms it says, 'He is slow to anger and rich in unfailing love.' In the Psalms and Gospels it describes Him as a tender shepherd. God is love. Nothing can seperate us from the love of God. I have carved you in the palm of my hand, I can not forget you. Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called you by name you are mine. Come, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Father of orphans, defender of widows is God in His holy hill. Jesus was moved with compassion on the multidudes. For a few examples off the top of my head. So precious for me is when He whispers in those quiet moments, when I feel His gentleness there. A kiss just for me.
Under His wings . This verse is similar to verse one 'He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty. Those moments are so increadible when God seems so real and speaks so clearly and shows more of Himself. I think God loves those moments too. He longs to have them with us. God longs to show Himself to us. Many people seem to think that God is just for church and quiet times. But what Psalm 91 is saying is that we can be under His wings all the time! We can live with Him not just for Him. Like the Bible says, It is no longer I that liveth but Christ that liveth in me. What a friend we do have in Jesus! I find it so beautiful to just talk to Daddy God about anything and everything. I want to stay Under His Wings all the time. Feel Him Hear Him.
The last thing I wanted to point out about this verse, is the words 'shalt thou trust.' God keeps showing me not to be afraid. Just Trust ing. When I get afraid of God, and think I must do this and that to earn His love and attention, it pushes me away from Him. He showed me that God is love, and His perfect love casts out my fear. After all what is there to fear in perfect love, gentleness, compassion? He is gradually taking out that fear that resisting, that selfness out of me so He can cuddle me, unresistent, to His beautiful heart.

I'm so glad you like my site Cait.
David didn't quite have the same oppinion. He described it as "girl's only and disgustingly sentimental."
Thanks for your comments, you have this way of thinking of me far better than I ever deserve. I fail so very much. One thing I've learnt from my life is how incredibly patient and slow to anger the Lord is. I'd put your name in that paragraph definitely.
